Patient Care Philosophy:
I believe that clinical excellence is achieved by providing individualized care that is well-informed, respectful, and compassionate.
Renee Donnelly has worked in oncology settings throughout the northeast since the start of her nursing career in 2003. As both a certified adult and oncology nurse practitioner, she strives to provide well-informed, respectful, and compassionate individualized care for each of her patients.
In 2003, Renee received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, from University of New York, Binghamton, and then her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010. She has served as a guest lecturer at George Washington University, as well as a speaker at the Oncology Nursing Society’s 43rd Annual Conference. Renee is also the author of two academic articles, published by Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania and the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing.
Prior to joining the staff at VCI, Renee worked as a nurse practitioner in Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, MedStar Georgetown Hospital in Washington,
D.C., and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Through these experiences, she developed a special interest in working with and improving the quality of life for breast cancer patients and survivors. She believes in the importance of patient education, and understands that each individual has unique needs and goals, which impacts their course of treatment.
Currently, Renee is based at the VCI West End campus. In her free time, Renee enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and musical theater.
