Gade Syamala, NP-C
Patient Care Philosophy:
I believe care should be patient-centered, where providers customize that care to reflect each patient's needs, values, and choices.
Gade (pr. Gah-dee) is a Family Nurse Practitioner with an international perspective on patient care. Her scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and management of common and complex health care problems.
Gade brings an outstanding academic background to her work with VCI. She obtained her first undergraduate degree in Biology from Osmania University in India and worked in the computer field for some time before returning to school to pursue a second career in nursing.
In 2009, Gade earned her BSN from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing, going on to earn her MSN there in 2015. She worked as an RN at Retreat Hospital and Henrico Doctors’ Hospital before joining Virginia Cancer Institute as a nurse practitioner in 2015.
Gade is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Credentialing Center and licensed by the state of Virginia. She is a member of the International Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, and is also affiliated with the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners.
Outside her work at VCI, Gade enjoys reading mystery thrillers, watching movies, and traveling and sightseeing with her husband and two children.
