Sujatha Yellinedi, MD

Dr. Yellinedi understands the emotional and physical challenges that come with fighting cancer. That’s why in addition to offering the best clinical care possible to heal the physical effects of cancer, she leads with compassion to heal the emotional effects as well. Dr. Yellinedi earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Guntur Medical College in Guntur, India and is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. Following medical school, Dr. Yellinedi completed an internship at Government General Hospital in Guntur, India. She went on to complete her residency in internal medicine at Wright State University School of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in Dayton, Ohio, where she later completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology.
Dr. Yellinedi has a special interest in the areas of breast cancer, colon cancer, hematology and multiple myeloma and is a proud member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Medical Association (AMA). She is committed to learning about groundbreaking research and leading-edge technologies that will change the way cancer is diagnosed and treated.
Dr. Yellinedi joined Virginia Cancer Institute in August 2016 and is proud to be a part of a team that provides patient-centered cancer care with a collaborative approach. She receives patients at our Bon Secour @ Southside Medical Center and Puddledock locations.
Family is very important to Dr. Yellinedi, and when she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She also enjoys reading and traveling as often as she can.
