Virginia Cancer Institute Chosen for Patient Education Effort – March, 2012
Virginia Cancer Institute has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in computed tomography (CT) as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs are assessed.
Virginia Cancer Institute is proud to support our cancer patients, survivors and their families through valuable seminars on non-medical issues facing cancer patients. The Legal Information Network for Cancer (LINC) provides legal, debt management and finance services to cancer patients and their families as well as referrals to resources within our immediate area. VCI remains a proud supporter of LINC and is excited to continue it’s sponsorship of their annual “It’s in the Bag” handbag auction. The “It’s in the Bag” is a unique and popular event in Richmond, VA, auctioning casual and evening handbags designed by creative, artistic and philanthropic individuals. Proceeds benefit LINC’s clients who turn to LINC for personalized advocacy and services.
